Pico de las Nieves
Pico de Las Nieves, the highest peak on the island of Gran Canaria with its 1949 meters of height, can be reached very easily by car, so no excuses, if you are planning a trip to this fantastic island this spot can’t be missed.
Spectacular observation point, perfect during the golden hour; looking west you can see Roque Nublo, the second highest peak on the island and, if the sky is clear, you can easily distinguish the entire silhouette of the neighboring island Tenerife, in particular the summit of the Teide volcano, the highest peak in Spain.
For this shot I’ve decided to make a panorama, in those conditions neutral density grads filters are a must.
In detail I’ve used a Nikon D810 and the Nikkor 24-70 f2.8G vertically, using at the same time a 0.9 Netral Hard Grad filter to balance luminosity difference of the sky and the foreground.
